Another Friday, Another Month

Friday Again. Yesterday the gloom fairy must have visited Matt and I. For some reason we both we hit with a small case of the blues. Who knows. Thankfully it’s friday, and being an inately happy person it doesn’t last long.

“It seems a lot of fine things have been laid on your table, but you only want what you can’t get. Desperado, your pain and your hunger are driving you home. Freedom, oh, freedom that’s just some people talking, your prision is walking through this world all alone.”

I wish sometimes that we would be scooped up and move from this state. I love my inlaws more than anything and there are certainly aspects of California that I like, but I’ve realized that this isn’t home.  This isn’t where I really want to be long term anymore. I don’t know why, but this whole state, the atmosphere makes me itchy and antsy. People seem so content to stay in their small cities and never really explore. I have worked with people who are in their 40′s, grew up & now live in Oxnard who have never driven the 2 hours to see the seal lions, who think that Santa Barbara is an etravagant trip (45 minutes people), and who think that Matt and I are crazy & adventurous for just exploring what this state has to offer.  How does this happen?  How do you kill that curiosity that comes naturally to human beings?

I have one serious goal for this year. I want to do something that’s Fucking Cool. Notice how that’s capitalized? Yeah & I mean FUCKING Cool. Like when other people hear I’ve done ___ they will be like “That’s FUCKING Cool.”  I don’t know what this thing will be but it needs to be done.

EDIT: I finally read the directions for the Endpaper Mits , god I must have missed the whole, “pattern is mirrored” after the purl bump. NO WONDER it wasn’t working! Finally on my way. I have way to many UFO’s right now.

Snark Level: TERMINAL

Sick & Tired

Though I agree with some of you (& some who emailed instead of commenting?) that I am in love with the Central Park Hoodie, I’m not ready for another sweater.

Valpuri broke my heart last night as I tried her on after seaming 1 sleeve. The sleeve is super tight. I’m now stalled on the second sleeve & probably won’t pick her up again until after I come back from Minnesota. I’ve tossed around with ripping & re-knitting, but I’m doing weight watchers, loosing weight & I haven’t blocked it yet. Does Lamb’s Pride grow? Just weird, the body fits perfectly too.

Another reason I’m burnt out on sweaters? Right now I am doing a simple wrap that is feeding off what was the back piece of my Kathren Hepburn cardigan. Too big, bad yarn choice for showing off both cables and lace. Lovely yarn though & it’s going to make a lovely much used office wrap.

So woodland Shawl it is. I’m casting on tonight & after this & maybe a few more hats (as now I think I offically have a stash) I will co for the cph.
