A Question For All You Knitters.

Ok, I need to know. Has any LYS owner (or employee) snapped your yarn while winding it?  What do you do?  How do you be polite when your heart snapped along with your 21 $ jitterbug? Should I have said something? I deffinately didn’t feel it when I said “That’s ok”. Because honestly, I didn’t feel it was terribly ok.  I understand these things happen and some skiens are just bad but…

I guess I feel a little uneasy because the person winding the yarn was neither the owner nor an employee.  This was a person who still has to measure themselves against the yard stick at 6 Flags to see if they can get on the ride. D:

In the end I took the yarn & didn’t make it a big deal but there are quite a few worn & frayed pieces in my skien (at least in the 1/2 I’m working with now, I think I’m past the majority) that I’ve never seen in my other jitterbug skiens.  I feel badly, but I still wonder if I should have stood up for myself a little more.

Ok! And because I’ve been getting emails about objects seen in knitting pictures but not about knitting itself I will answer them now, I promise I haven’t ignored your emails.

Kat-

The earrings seen here are actually smokey topaz looking crystal. I’ve seen them around quite a lot in California stores recently but I’m sure you could find them almost anywhere.

Tammy, Ashley, Dina-

The ring seen here is London Blue Topaz set in white gold. If you like this you should find a jeweler soon because my MIL tells me this is harder and harder to find.

I’ve had an explosion of emails on this pair of earings. They are made by Pianegonda & I love them more than anything. I’ve linked to their sight so feel free to wander. Their gems are excedinly clear & vibrant (and big which I personally love). Deffinately worth the investment.
