Vintage Knits: Little Childs Sock
OMG two full sets of socks in one weeks time! How crazy is that? I have to say, if I had found Nancy Bush when I first started knitting I would have gotten into socks much faster. The patterns are clear, clean, consice, to the point (with out leaving out vital information) and quite nice. Some patterns are easy, some are more difficult and she leaves the rest up to you. I now want her book Knitting on the Road.

Yarn: Jitterbug in Vincent’s Apron 1.25 skiens
Needle: US 2 DPN’s through out
Mods: Absolutely none. I knew that I had pleanty of yarn so I followed the row count & everything. Did I know that these would end up having a 9 inch leg? NOPE! God these are big socks. The ladies at knitting laughed about it, but honestly the foot and the leg are almost equal in length. I won’t tell you which is bigger though.

Verdict: I am in love with these socks. Even more so than the Childs First sock which I love but it’s lacy & I’m not all that fancy of a gal so I don’t know how much real use they will get. Even though these are a rediculously bright color I love them and will probably wear them often. Once again, I love the decreases, the texture is nice but subtle. This could easily be a dress sock if you did it in navy, black or grey. Leave it to me to throw caution to the wind and paint my feet ochre.

Also, I have finally some random weaving pictures

(It seems that I had a random fight with a weedwacker
A weedwacker named Armundo & I love him for chopping all my hair off. Hair is over rated.)
This is the second weaving project (below) that I have done. I wanted something more than just 2 colors. I probably did everything wrong but I don’t care. I’m in love with the end result. It’s kind of a fake plaid
I have a billion ends to weave in.

And this is what I have done of Childs French Sock (well it was on saturday, by now I’m pretty much done with the first sock.)

P.S. I tried to knit and love my I <3 Gansey socks. I did. I will knit them again, but for now they are frogged because the yarn didn’t show off the cables at all which I think is a total waste of time. I see there are people who knit cables with variated yarns and though that may float their boat I am not doing a million 1X1 twists NOT to have them POP and make me happy. So frogged they are till later. The yarn is now Childs French Sock.
