Merry & Happy

From ours to yours

Quick update!

I’ve been missing though I haven’t gone anywhere really. It’s hard to fine the energy to blog and I’ll blame it on the holiday season (though really I haven’t done squat for the holiday season).what have I been up to?

Well the Mr and I went to visit our good friends Jim & Carol up in Oak Glen.  They have a fabulous pack of dogs, alpacas, an emu named Larry, and wild peacocks.

It rained like mad all weekend but I really had a wonderful time chatting and playing with animals.

Then the weekend after that we went up to Ranch Of the Oaks to hang out.  The ewes are in with their respective rams and everyone seems well except for our one sheep who want’s nothing to do with the boy she’s in with.  She was so eager to get away from him that she actually broke through a fence. Hopefully that means she’s already bred but if not it’s ok too.

I’ve been crocheting a lot more recently and feel pretty comfortable with it now.

I have a pattern or two in the works that need to be written up and I’m crocheting my first improv toy. :) It may or may not be (it is) a dragon.

Merry Christmas! And just to show you a little bit of our tree…

Why yes that is garlic.

City Mitten Pattern

The mittens are finished, the pattern is written and they are ready for sale.

City Mittens

These mittens were so fun and fast to knit.  Great long mittens that keep out even the slightest cold.  A great last minute knitted gift.

All you need is 330 yards of worsted weight yarn and a set of size 7 double pointed needles.  This mitten works up quick enough to be satisfying but is interesting enough to keep even the most advanced knitter smiling all the way through the second mitten.

I’ve been busy…

As a newly formed slave to the crochet I’ve been really busy.  I like it because it’s fast and since I’ve picked small projects it’s really flown by.

These little buggers just need to be starched and hooks to hang on the tree.

And the crochet doesn’t stop there…

I have been knitting the bubble pull over from knitting from nature and while it’s coming along really well it looks like a complete mess.  I’ve almost finished a set of mittens too.

Also I’ve finished my spiral yoked pull over but I’m not really sure how I feel about it.

I wish it was shorter and I tried to make it shorter but it didn’t work out like I planned because it’s still pretty long.

Other than that life is going pretty well. As I’m typing the Mr is putting out the christmas lights and tomorrow I’m having coffee with a pretty cool chick from work.  So yeah & stuff.  More knitting to come and maybe even some writing.  I feel like I’m really getting somewhere with Mildred, well, 300,000 words and still no end in sight.  even if I never get to the publishing stage I’ve freaking written a story that I am pretty proud of and would really want to read.

Stay tuned, more projects and patterns to come ;)

(And omg side note, this is the first time I’ve ever hit the spell check to find that there are absolutely no errors!)
