Girl Friday Cardigan

Ok, I have to admit that I shouldn’t have really cast this on because I have so many other things I should be completing.  Like, sweaters for the Mr & Carol, scarves, Christmas & birthday knits and…oh yeah…packing this darn house! So I’m not sure how this got on the needles but I blame Mette & her fabulous yarn.

Pattern: Girl Friday free from Knitty
Yarn: Zoo Blend by Ranch Of The Oaks
Verdict? LOVE!!! I was going for a slouchy English cardigan.  You know the ones that are always shown in the movies looking oh so cute & oh so comfy. Well I think I achieved it.  It’s fitted enough in the right places but big enough that I can lounge. I love it!

The lace pattern was so easy that I used practically no brain power to knit it.  I am really pleased that I used a lace pattern for this yarn or else I fear it would have been one HEAVY sweater.  Which is fine because I’m moving to Washington State but I wanted something more versatile.

This was a seriously easy pattern to follow.  The shaping is minimal & the collar is delish! I would totally recommend everyone take a new look at this sweater.

  1. What an AWESOME sweater — you’ll get tons of mileage out of it in Washington. I remember shivering during my sister’s July 2nd wedding in Seattle. ;)

  2. Ok seeing how fabulous yours turned out is inspiring me to pull mine out of the closet and redo the collar- I bound off too tightly so you can imagine how badly that looks and feels.

  3. Look at you getting your model on.. ;) That is a seriously cut cardy! Oh and you’ll love this, Amelia’s been taking that blanket to school for nap time.
