Weave It – In The Works

So I just finished up a huge knitting project which I can’t share with you until November 2011.  It was a lot of math and brain melt.  It involved taking an intricate cable, flipping it upside down, and mirroring it.  It was a huge undertaking and I’m glad it’s done.  I have taken the days after to finish up a lot of projects that have been hanging around unfinished for months.  One of them, which I wasn’t sure if it was actually going to be a real pattern, is this shawl. Weave it.

Now that it’s done I like it even more than when I was knitting it.  The fabric has a nice soft hand and with the woven stitches a little thicker.  This shawl is super easy to knit and I’m re-knitting it now just to double check the pattern and also changing the increases.  Monika commented that she didn’t like the yo’s because it took away from the shawl.  I think she might be right so I’m changing it up.

I’ve also started another knitting project because I can’t have any less than 5 projects going at once.  It’s easy, reversible, and has a great texture.

I hope to have weave it done and ready for testers this week.  I’m knitting it again in a beautiful purple and a vibrant acid green.  It’s just about the prettiest color combination I’ve seen in a long long time.

In other news Oops the goat who had a serious infection in his shoulder joint has made an amazing recovery.  He’s not 100% but he’s no longer a 3 legged lame goat.  He’s romping around (albeit slowly) and doesn’t seem to be in pain.  He still has a while longer on his antibiotics but I’m so relieved to see him feeling better.

  1. I like both your shawls shown here. I’ve always liked knit items, which look woven. The color combo is fabulous. I’m glad your little goat is feeling better.

  2. Yay! I’m glad Oops is feeling better! Sick kids are no fun. Umm… Baby goats are called kids, aren’t they? Did I make that up? Hmm… Oh well. I love the look of Weave It! You choose such bright bold colors! It looks great.
